It’s wedding season (it’s wedding season whenever you’re off to a wedding)!
Possibly wedding galore if you’re invited to a handful of weddings — you must be pretty popular. How’s the dress hunt going?

Finding a dress is always the hardest part and can become a nightmare if you wait until last minute. Should you rock florals or go for a simple print? Does the sheer overlay make the dress or make you look eh? These are important details. What if they’re all out of your size and you have to order your size for pick up, did you plan enough time to get this dress? You can’t show up at the wedding and not leave an impression — just don’t steal the bride’s shine because that’s not cool, and I will not be an accomplice or influence that led you in such a direction.
So here’s to a post that is going to take the stress off of all my ladies that are trying to figure out what to wear to a wedding. You can go from casual cute to Oh, you fancy, huh? What style is the wedding calling for?
Time to prepare and plan for the theme and light up the room right behind the bride and bridal party.
Off-the-Shoulder Dress
This is a win-win. If it’s hot and you don’t want to wear a tank or strappy dress, off-the-shoulder is go-to look. Not only are these type of dresses appropriate but they come in different flattering forms from bodycon to midi to skater. With the off-the-shoulder dress you can show off your tan and bare some skin — it’s not too much skin which is a good look on your part. These dresses are fun and flirty — you get to show off your tan and look good in a style that will more than likely stand out on the dance floor.
Lace Dress
One can’t go wrong with lace — I’m not talking about the stuffy lace that will pile on and the sweat that might happen along with an itch. We’re trying to avoid that, and the new styles are pretty savvy. There are the lace dresses that expose a little skin and still keep you modest; these might be my favorite. The cut-out in the middle is usually small and stands out but not too much. My advice when it comes to lace, do a color and pattern that won’t steal all the attention. Be careful with your lace and make sure that you don’t get stuck on anything — that is another con, but you should be all good if no random things are sticking out to launch on to you.
The Wrap Dress
These dresses are sexy but modest. And the styles vary from strappy wrap dress to sleeved wrap dress. I don’t know what it is but the wrap part is what gets me. You get a split without having to buy a dress with a split! Of course, the split isn’t Angelina Jolie huge, and it isn’t exactly a split, but it does help show off your awesome legs. The dress also helps enunciate your shape and hugs in the right spots. The wrap dress is perfect for the fancy wedding that is inside and more than likely in a cooling environment. You don’t want to get cold, and this number can help you out. But there are summery outdoor choices!
The Dress With a Plunge
Do you dare go for a look that is going to stand out and catch some stares? A dress with a plunging neckline always catches the eye of someone, and if they’re done right, they look amazing. There’s even a keyhole plunge that you could try. These dresses are perfect for the black-tie event. Why? Because in such a formal environment, you want to do something to stand out but not be an eye sore. Your plunging neckline does just that with some elegance. You look classy and sexy, what’s not to like?! You know who has great plunge dresses? Pretty Little Thing aka a store I just started ordering from, and I’m obsessed.
Maxi So You Can Twirl
Who doesn’t want to spin when they’re on the dance floor? Sure, you can turn in all your dresses, but a maxi gives off a princess vibe, in my opinion. Plus, you don’t have to worry about it rising too high which is something we all should avoid. The thing about a maxi is that it can be casual and flowy or body-hugging and elegant. There are so many different styles that you can indulge in. You can go bohemian to black tie affair, depending on your choice of style and trend.
Jumpsuit
Maybe you want to avoid wearing a dress because you’ve worn so many dresses already! Right now, a jumpsuit is a great look. I love jumpsuits and bathroom breaks might suck a little, but I would wear jumpsuits all the time if I could find the right type to fit my body. This look is so simple, yet you can dress it up — say you’re wearing a royal blue jumpsuit that is backless, you can pair it with a black leather jacket that just so happens to match the strappy black heels you have on. You can even do an off-the-shoulder jumpsuit! It’s like a suit but more fun especially when you add in stripes and florals.
The special occasion always calls for a great outfit — a wedding is the top of a list when it comes to special occasions. You’ll want to avoid a dress that will outshine the bride and make you uncomfortable. Don’t give into the hype that beauty is a pain because not all dresses are worth the pain.
Take the time to experiment and wear something that you would never usually wear. Just make sure you’re comfortable.
Remember the accessories, shoes, and hairstyle will contribute to making the look. Make sure that you pay attention to all these important factors when it comes to planning your outfit.
As you think about what you’re going to wear, just think it’s not that hard now. You got some help and some ideas. Whether you take them or leave them, that is up to you! Of course, check your invitation and see where the venue is and what the dress code is calling for, that will help make the decision easier.
Have you figured out what you’re wearing to that wedding? Hopefully, I made it just a little bit easier, if not give me your ideas! What’s a style that you love right now? Are you trying to be elegant, classy, savvy, boho, etc?
Enjoy your weddings!
