6 & 7 Months of Cannon
We missed quite a few months and I will say that Cannon is a busy bee. Like, he started moving at six months with help from pulling on things like the carpet and bed covers. He was well into his second month of being watched by Auntie Kearsten so he had her undivided attention all day. Cannon’s teeth came in like crazy during six and seven months. He had two teeth by the end of June. So, we had a lot of screaming and Tylenol moments because those teeth hurt doing their growing things.

Cannon loves food. He could eat all day if you let him. He screams if you aren’t fast enough and is very impatient with his food. He’s very interested in doing his own thing so we have a playpen and he tears things up in there. It’s his own space so I don’t mind too much but I have weekly cleanings in there. Cannon loves to go on walks and be outside. His papaw takes him out on the front porch and lets him look at the plants and trees. He loves to watch the cars drive by. He loves Rocko and all dogs!
Dislikes
This little guy does not like to wait. He has his moments when you set him in his playpen and he cries because he wants to be held before deciding he’ll go and play. He does not like to be confined anymore. He will whine if he has to go in the pack and play. Naps seem to be a thing he doesn’t want to do but I want him to do because I need the break.
Milestones
Yes, Cannon hit a few milestones during these months. He started crawling which meant he has taken over our lives. Unfortunately, this kid loves the bathroom and crawls into there to bang on the shower and knock over the trash. He is always on the move. Also, he loves to stand and can do so unassisted so walking is coming. And, we have teeth! Two teeth and more are growing in so biting is a thing for my little guy.
Sleep
This guy will not sleep through the night. He wakes up a few times to eat which I get, he’s a growing boy and breast milk digests fast. Plus, he’s not the biggest fan of being in his bed.
Can you blame him? King bed > Crib. Our bed and the millions of pillows is probably softer. Sleep is definitely something we need to conquer but I’m not going to do the cry it out method because Cannon doesn’t stop crying. He has figured out the method and will take deep breaths before starting up his crying again. Not in the books for us, or at least, me.
So, six and seven months still equal co-sleeping with mom and dad. Only dad minds.
Breastfeeding
Still breastfeeding! I do feel like my supply went down once I started my new job and that’s probably because I am always moving and on-the-go at my new job. Obviously, I need to do better because that’s on me. I still nurse him when I get home and in the mornings but I do feel like I have a low supply. Sometimes, there’s a spurt in it when I eat oatmeal so that’s a plus!
