Currently, I’m rocking a headache and sipping tea while I watch the Ohio State Buckeyes down Maryland. It’s been an okay game, Ohio State is up 55-7 right now so yeah, not too interesting.
It’s officially Fall and the weather is trying to match it. It’s cold one day and then hot the next here in Ohio so yeah, I don’t know when to wear a swear or when to cuff my jeans to let my ankles breathe. That’s Ohio weather for you.
I’ve been doing a lot of self-care practice and taking care of myself. The things that are going on in the world can be so traumatic and affect us in so many different ways. I’m trying to avoid that. I don’t want to think there is tons of evil out there because I know there are good people out there. I refuse to let evil people steal my joy. Until then, I’m going to continue with bubble baths every now and then, a facial here and there.
Book Recommendations
I thought I would switch this area up a bit. Usually, I talk about the books I have rad but I wanted to recommend books this time around. If you like a good mystery/sister feels book, you need to read Saving Zoe. It’s a book that left an imprint in my life because of the story and details. It’s crazy but sad. I have pushed it onto my sisters but I’m not sure if they have read it or not. It’s a good read if you need something quick and easy for a trip. You’ll be surprised and wondering what if… as you read, I know I was.
Beauty Faves
I’m in love with the Fenty Beauty Profiltr Foundation, right about now. Of course, I bought it around the time it came out because it was selling out. Unfortunately, Sephora matched me with the wrong color so I had to wait for the online order to come and return it in person before putting in another online order. That’s on Sephora’s artist, though. The Foundation literally goes on like it’s part of my skin. It doesn’t feel like I have makeup caked onto my face. Also, I loaded up on the highlights and I love them. I haven’t used any of my other highlighters since I bought these. I will have to write a post on these because they are fire! African Black Soap has been another favorite because it gets my hormonal acne under wraps. I always have a bad breakout every now and then and this soap always gets me right.
Blessings
I’m a homeowner and new car owner. The car wasn’t something I had planned on doing but a car accident left me with the need to get a new car. The condo was planned and something that I wanted to do. It was a big decision that I had a lot of thinking to do and I almost had cold feet but I went through with it! I love it, I honestly love the fact that I can paint and I don’t have to worry about moving next year. I’m eager to decorate so quick and get everything done but I know I need to take time because I can’t make rash decisions and hate it all in the end. This was definitely a highlight for the last half of 2017. I’m excited to see my home blossom and showcase it on the blog as it comes together.
Bloops
So, I went to Target to buy Halloween stuff and did self-checkout. Paid and everything, forgot the bowl that I want to put Halloween candy in. I’m a little salty because it was like $5 and I know other bowls are going to be like $1 at Wal-Mart. So yeah, that’s the most recent bloop that I can think of.
Bonus
Time to clean out my closet and plan my fall wardrobe. Does anyone else find it hard to go shopping when they get older? Like, I don’t need to stock up on crop tops anymore and I need to find something other than leggings to wear because I just do. I guess I’m growing up in a way where I want to look professional most of the time and a bum inside my house. I just need affordable fashion to pop up so that I can splurge on a new wardrobe.
What’s going on in your life? Are you excited for fall?
