If there is one thing that makes me feel more like an adult, it’s all the organization that I’ve been doing. I don’t know what it is — maybe it’s having a home? maybe adding a toddler and dog to my mix? Whatever it is, I have to have an organized space. I need to feel like there is no chaos at home. Maybe in my son’s room, there might be but everywhere else, no.
Organizing has always been something that I’ve loved. It’s peaceful for me. And, calming. I’m an overthinker that loves activities that slows my inner voice down for a while. That’s another reason why I blog.
Organization has taken over the last few years. It’s everyone’s thing which makes it more affordable now. Gone are the days of hoping for a Container Store sale because Target and Wal-Mart are coming through with affordable bins and tubs. Trust me, I’ve taken advantage of it.
Honestly, my need for an organized space means that I know where everything is. How frustrating is it to have no idea where you placed important documents or that bill? That’s why I have to be organized. Yes, I still keep a paper trail because you never know when your computer is going to crash or whatever.
Let’s dive into some of my favorites because I’ve shopped for a lot of different bins and containers.

IKEA Organization
Ikea is one of the OGs in the organization space. They’ve had bookshelves and shelving units built for organizing powers. Do you know how many craft rooms utilize the Kallax unit? I can’t tell you, but I know that I have one in my son’s room and in the playroom to organize toys. Not only do they have different shelving units, but their bins and tubs are in the affordable range. You can find office supplies tubs and paper containers, it’s an office organizer’s dream.
I am a fan of the Kuggis line. My bookshelves are lined with different bins that contain office supplies, paperwork that I don’t want to lose, and things I just need a place for. These bins keep my shelves decluttered and I love them.
Target
First, what does Target not have?! Target has been my favorite and easiest to deal with because of Target Pick-Up. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made an order to pick up some bins to store old baby clothes or pack up linens. Their containers have been my go-to.
Their new Bright Room line is my absolute favorite. I say this as someone that has stocked up on the different bins to organize my laundry room, cleaning supplies, and my toddler’s room. Obviously, I’m going to go back. But, it’s just the start. Target is definitely my favorite — their price point can’t be beaten in my eyes. I even grab a few containers to start organizing my refrigerator because who doesn’t like to know exactly where things are in their fridge?
Wal-Mart
While I go to Target over Wal-Mart (Target is closer to me), I know that when I go to Wal-Mart that I will find a gem. Right now, Wal-Mart has their collaboration with The Home Edit and there’s nothing better than The Home Edit. I mean, they have a Netflix series, book, and work with celebrities! It doesn’t get better than that unless you’re working with a certain price point.
Honestly, I have a few cereal containers and baskets from Wal-Mart. I was shopping there before either store came out with their new organization bins. I love the price point of Wal-Mart and I’ll be the first to check and see what it looks like before deciding on Walmart or Target.
To be honest, I was never too organized until I had a household to take care of. But, I love it. I love being able to see where everything is and know which bin has the correct product.
Maybe one day I’ll be a color-coordinated organizer, but until then I will enjoy having the same categories in one bin.
