This is overdue since Thanksgiving was about a week ago but here it is! What I wore to Thanksgiving at my parents’ house. The cold weather is rolling in and out in Ohio so we have warm weather one day and freezing weather the next. Unfortunately for me, it was pretty chilly when I decided to wear this dress but I braved the weather because it’s gorgeous. I’m not a big fan of yellow simply because I never looked good in the colors that I found. It really is hard to look good in some colors — yellow and orange are hard for me to pull off. I blame my olive/tan skin tone and dark hair, they just don’t mesh well together. This dress is different. People have been raving about it to me and it has been pumping up my head. *hair flipz* Welcome to my Thanksgiving look and please tell me if you see any lace dresses because your girl is now even more obsessed.
Something happened earlier this year — Forever 21 started pushing out the olive/army green, mustard yellow, and rustic orange colors which to my surprise, look good on me. These are fall colors in my eyes but I saw them all year long because the Forever here in Columbus is two floors at one mall followed by two more Forevers in two other malls which are all close together. Now, I won’t deny being able to pull off green because my prom dress was green and I have a sea full of green and blue clothing. Greens are my favorite because they work so well with my dark hair but that’s not the point. The point is that I can’t rock yellow unless it’s mustard yellow.
This dress minus the color is gorgeous. The details pop from the lace and it’s perfect for any occasion. I would wear this to a business casual dinner, wedding, etc. I really love this dress and it’s not mine, sigh. It’s my younger sister’s dress but I did pick it out for her because she can really pull off this color. She has a pretty toffee skin tone as does my youngest sister, they’re really winning. Not that skin tone matters but they can really pull off some great colors. The dress isn’t tight and doesn’t hug the body which is nice because it was Thanksgiving and I was ready to stuff my face. Thank God for sisters that are your size and for having the same taste in clothes… most of the time. I’m not sure they have this dress at Forever 21 still, they probably have one in this color but a different design. I’ll keep my eye out. The shoes are UrbanOG which never lets me down and has been in previous posts.

I did have a great holiday — it’s always nice to see all of my family together since two of my siblings are off at school. I enjoyed the laughs and time plus catching up on all my shoes because I refuse to invest in cable TV when all I watch is Netflix. This year, my siblings and I all helped out with the food. My mom thought it was a miracle so that is saying something.
How was your Thanksgiving? Happy December! Have you started decorating and shopping yet?
Haha, well I love that color! One of my faves!
That yellow is such a stunning color! Plus I'm dying over those heels!
