It’s a staple. You need these shoes in your life. Honestly, you need all types of shoes in your life but booties are really something else. They can dress up a look or make it casual. They can really set the tone for your look and that’s why I love them. The one reason I love wearing them is that I can go to work and still be business casual.
As someone who works in an agency that is inhabited inside a corporate business, we’re more laid back but have to dress up when we talk to brand partners — our clients. The culture and atmosphere of my career allow me to want to dress up but not too much. To make a long story, super short, I want to wear heels but I don’t want to be too dressed up which is why I wear booties. And I have to admit, I’m all for comfort over pain. I hate having achy feet from my shoes and I do all that I can to avoid it.
If you have noticed in previous posts, I’ve been wearing the heck out of my heeled collection and the booties have been worn frequently. I’m also a shoe-aholic that has too many pairs of shoes and wants to only wear her booties so I’m really a good person to vouch for booties.
Let’s talk about these shoes.

What is it about booties?
I really don’t know but I feel like I can be casual at the mall or dressed up in them at work. They just have the appeal to make you feel really good about your shoe choice. Heels make me feel overdressed at times — booties can come with a heel or no heel, though and that’s what really makes them bomb. Especially in the cold weather where flats won’t keep your pretty feet warm. Plus I like being extra tall when I wear them because I’m already 5’6 so what’s a few extra inches to feel like 6’0 going to harm?
But for real, I would add these to your closet if you want a business casual look but don’t want to overdue it. These pair perfectly with dresses, too. I can’t wait to buy more dresses for work because I already know I’ll be pairing them with some tights and booties. Not going to lie, I’m wearing my brown pair right now with some leggings because I needed to dress up my look. They really are versatile when it comes to the style you want to pull off.
Where do I buy my booties?
Every pair except for one came from UrbanOG. I don’t even remember how I found out about UrbanOG but I’ve been buying shoes from there since 2014 so you can see that I’m loyal. They definitely have the best prices when you want to buy a boatload of shoes all at once and there are always promo codes for free shipping or 20% off — they’re the best. Other than UrbanOG, Target has been a place I’ve bought shoes. My pair from Target were a gift from my youngest sister and I’m obsessively wearing them almost every day because they’re closed toe and all my other ones are opened toe.
Should you invest?
Yes, would I ever lead you down the wrong road? No! I honestly think booties can make an outfit dressy if you want it to be dressy or dress it down. And they work for all seasons so it’s a good investment, in my opinion. I would say to try the shoes out before buying them, obviously. If you’re ordering online, make sure the website does refunds or returns because some places do/don’t and if they don’t refund your money but offer store credit, that is up to you to walk away from that site or dive in — I prefer to walk away because if I don’t like anything else why have a store credit?!
Booties are life. Don’t miss out on them and if you have them, flaunt them. The one thing I like about them is that they don’t cover my entire calves like tall boots and my feet aren’t cold like they are in flats. It’s a win-win. Trust me on this, booties are the best thing ever. Besides slippers and fuzzy socks. If you want to look the part and remove the tiny heels, insert these wedge-like heels. I think that’s why I like them most because my feet aren’t aching after a few hours — my feet never ache in booties. Open-toe heels are another story.
What’s your favorite shoe style? And should I get grey booties because variety, right?
