LIFESTYLE | Invest. Embrace. Do You.

The best thing a person can invest in is their self. There’s nothing more important than investing in one’s self and taking care of one’s self. Of course, this looks rather materialistic with the image I’m posting with this post but I promise it’s not. I’m a Marketing Assistant that has to use to many different platforms to succeed in what I want to do. I work with branding and a public platform which is why this Macbook Pro comes into play. My life might feel just a bit lighter carrying this thing around compared to the Toshiba that I had throughout college. But that’s not the point here.
Invest in yourself. Why not? There’s nothing better than believing in yourself and knowing you can succeed. If you set goals and set your mind to something, who is going to stop you? No one. No one can stop you unless you let them. I thoroughly believe that our goals can be accomplished no matter what. You have to take the risk. You have to believe that you can do it. Say it. Speak it into existence. I refused to settle for a job after receiving a couple of job offers, I didn’t want to just take the first offer I was given. I wanted to have the perfect match to what I wanted to do in life.

I knew my first job wasn’t going to be my dream job. It’s not that easy. I had to embrace the fact that I was going to have a job that was going to give me experience and room to grow. I was going to learn what I couldn’t learn in the classroom. I believed that I would find the perfect job and I did. Embracing yourself is the key – at least, in my opinion. When you fully accept yourself for who you are and you are acknowledging your flaws and not letting them take over, you can find happiness. Do you. There is no one else that can do you better than you. I firmly believe we are all special in some certain way. I know my quirks and flaws, I love them – I’m not perfect. I’m Brittnee.

In order to get to where I’m going, I’m going to have to do me. My brand is me. I can’t mimic someone else because what they’re doing is great. Don’t mimc someone. Set your own tone. It’s going to work and if it doesn’t work with some people, there’s a million other people in this world. Don’t let a few negative people take away your spirit. I think that’s what graduation has helped me with. I pushed away the bad and negative – I took away the people that are too self-absorbed in themselves to enjoy life and I replaced them with focusing on my dreams. I don’t need to worry about someone when they aren’t worried about themselves. I think college is a place of discovery and exploring different paths. The ending helps you realize that you did this for you and your people. Your accomplishments are from your handwork and it’s nice. It’s the best feeling to know I earned it.

That feeling helps reassert the fact that I have to be Brittnee. Invest and embrace the person that you are. Love yourself. That’s the most important thing. If you love yourself, you don’t have to rely on anyone else’s love besides The Lord.

you do you, girls!!!
