How to Break Up with Your Acne featuring Neutrogena

If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you have dealt with acne or you are dealing with acne. Maybe you want the details on how I’m dealing with it because you know it’s a struggle and you keep up with me. Either way, you’re here and you’re about to learn about this lovely little monster called acne.

Most of you know I love to talk about skin care and trying to better my skin for a more radiant, glowy look. I’m trying to appear flawless like I woke up like this aka radiant every single day. But, acne just doesn’t want me to be great. Hater, btw.

What is acne? It’s a skin condition which makes it sound like this terrible thing. It’s truly not terrible but it’s annoying. It messes with people’s self-confidence and it gets in the way from time to time. Acne is treatable and there are many things out there that you can do to get your skin in check to your standards.

For me, I’m all about products that aren’t going to be harsh on my skin but will do the job right. We all know that are basic face washes and there are targeted face washes that will be perfect for your skin condition. I tend to go for products that are targeting my specific issues because I want it to work. I don’t want to buy something that isn’t going to focus on my concern because what use will I get out of that, ya know?

Not going to lie, Neutrogena has always been a go to. I have the body wash with grapefruit and the grapefruit scrub so I’ve been dedicated for years. Obviously, I had to jump on the opportunity to work with this brand because I have heard so much about the newer products and sometimes, I like to stick to what I know—don’t we all?

But, I gave these products a try because they target what my skin needs – they focus on aiding me on my journey to clear breakouts and prevent future ones from occurring. Also, they utilize salicylic acid which I’m sure you’ve heard of before because it’s a big game player in the acne world. Salicylic acid helps with anti-inflammatory and treating skin problems. Neutrogena knows what they’re doing when it comes to putting the right ingredients to unclog your pores.

I have partnered with Neutrogena on this post. All reviews are my own.

Here are my thoughts on the Neutrogena Acne Proofing products which I hope will be helpful for many of you on your acne journey.

Acne Proofing Daily Scrub

When it comes to scrubs, I’m picky. Like, I don’t want a product that is too gritty and scratches my face. And, I don’t want something that is going to leave specks on my cheeks. I have become a fan of this Neutrogena Acne Proofing Daily Scrub as it is not as harsh as some other scrubs I have used. It’s maximum strength which left me wary at first but I haven’t dealt with a peeling face so I think this product is a win. You can feel the beads in this scrub but your cheeks aren’t scratched or left feeling like they’re going to crack from dryness.

This is the perfect scrub to use after removing make-up, it helps remove the make-up that is still lingering in your pores. I usually use a scrub two or three times a week as I have sensitive skin and don’t want to overdo it.

Acne Proofing Gel Cleanser

I love the feeling of the Neutrogena Acne Proofing Gel Cleanser. It foams up when mixed with water and I lather away at my face. The consistency has left my skin feeling smooth and it has helped dry out the pimples that are making their appearances on my cheeks and around my chin. If you remember from some of my other posts, I deal with hormonal acne flare-ups so I’m always trying to combat them without my skin being left flaky and in distress.

I have no complaints about this Acne Proofing Gel Cleanser and I love that Neutrogena thought of both products.

I’m the girl that always goes for the gel cleanser especially if I’m going to be using it more than once a day which is what I’m doing. I use this product once in the morning and once in the evening (sometimes, three times if I go to the gym on the weekend during the afternoon).

Now if you’re like me, you’re over your acne. You’re ready to cut this relationship off because it’s time to go, it’s time to end it. Let’s do it. We just have to pay attention and use the right products on our face while creating a routine. Neutrogena has your routine almost complete if you’re looking for an everyday cleanser. You get something that is going to unclog your pores and a scrub that will help remove impurities.

This is how I’m feeling like I’m a superhero because I’ve found a way to combat my acne.

If you don’t know much about your skin, now is your time to figure it out. You can easily head to your nearest retailer and pick up these products – that’s how accessible Neutrogena is.
