Now that cool and chilly weather has arrived to accompany fall, you can bet that I’m pulling out all my sweaters.
Yes, there’s no turning back from this. Fall in Ohio is one of my favorite seasons. It doesn’t last too long since winter likes to rear it’s ugly head early, but while it’s around I’m going to enjoy it. If you haven’t been to Ohio, we’re definitely one of those Midwest states that can deal with all four seasons in one day or week. And, the fall season gets pretty gorgeous around here.
As a mom, I tend to run around Target and Old Navy stocking up Cannon’s closet without any thought to my own.
I know I’m not the only one. It’s the mom thing to do.
Nonetheless, I’m realizing I need to upgrade my sweater collection. More so, with staple pieces. Pieces that can be worn over and over without getting too many snags. And if there’s one thing I love about dressing for fall, it’s sweaters. Sweaters make the perfect staple piece. From the comfort and cozy to dressed up and professional — you cannot go wrong!
Now, my go-to places don’t really change. I actually added Abercrombie & Fitch to my line-up last year. After working at the corporate office for a year and having a great discount, I couldn’t pass up on investing. I will say that A&F provides quality which outweighs their price for me. They are on the pricey side for certain pieces like their cashmere or cardigans. But again, it’s totally worth it.
American Eagle has been one of my favorites since high school. I feel like they get better and better each year. Thankfully, their style always matches my style. Especially the styles that pop up for the cold months. The quality is there for American Eagle/Aerie and their prices are affordable. There are some pieces that match A&F’s price point, but for the most part, they’re usually less.
Last but not least, Forever 21. Yes, I know everyone isn’t about fast fashion, but they’re affordable and if you take great care of your pieces, they will last. If I need something ASAP, it’s always nice to know that there’s a Forever21 fifteen minutes away and if I look hard enough, I’ll find something.
One thing that will never go out of style is sweaters. They might sell out due to popularity, but there’s always going to be sweaters somewhere. Just make sure that you buy the ones that you like now before they are all sold out! It’s honestly the worst to get your hopes up and see something sold out (especially with the above retailers + Target).
