As I’m entering my third trimester, a lot of me feels much more motivated to blog! Unfortunately, I did not do any bumpdates throughout the beginning of my pregnancy because I wanted to wait until I hit 20 weeks to share the news which meant I missed out on a lot of blog posts that I could have shared. I apologize. Keep an eye out for overall Bumpdates on the first and second trimesters to make up for it.
Also, I’m seven months, and pregnancy has felt like forever, but at the same time, it has gone by quick. We’re still working on a name for all of the people that continue to ask. No, we aren’t going to announce it beforehand. We want to make sure his name is fitting when he is born. I’ve come to realize this pregnancy that I’ll be delivering in the cold months, and I’m going to have to make rules for people. If you’re reading this and are expecting to visit, please check-in with us. Good news, I passed my glucose test, so I’m very excited that I didn’t have to do the three-hour test.
How far along?
28 weeks, six days.
Name?
Still working on the perfect name for the little man.
Fruit?
Baby boy is the size of a coconut. But, my other apps say different. He’s around 2.5 pounds. Probably 3 pounds.
How many months?
Seven months.
Are you showing?
Very much. Everyone tells me I’m adorable, but I can’t squeeze past things anymore so this isn’t cool anymore.
Movement?
I can describe it as one would describe a fish or something swimming under your foot. It feels weird, at times. It’s cool to see the movement. He only moves on his timing and not my own. He’s definitely a kicker, and we might be playing soccer, or maybe he’ll be a punter. We’ll see — Chase says baseball, but I’m not feeling any powerful hits, per say.
Weight gain?
Just know that I haven’t hit the limit for my height yet.
Cravings?
Nothing crazy — I’m all about my french fries but that has always been me. I’m on a potato kick, but I need to get off it and eat something healthy.
Maternity clothes?
I’ve converted, but I’m currently wearing a skirt in my regular size because it stretches. Finally, I’m giving in and going to buy some maternity clothes this week. I’m thinking about thrifting as a lot of maternity jeans are so expensive — way more than what I usually pay for regular jeans.
Stretch marks?
On my thighs, yes! Nothing on the belly yet. This girl needs to start using her cocoa butter to defeat them from taking over.
Belly button: in or out?
It’s staying in.
The mood this week?
Tired and it’s only Tuesday.
Sleeping?
I tossed and turned last week because I washed my deep sleep spray off my pillows. But last night, I was out like a light.
Symptoms?
Super sore toes — a sciatic nerve thing. I can’t walk up and down the stairs without being out of breath. Braxton Hicks likes to pop up now and then. Sore upper back from leaning forward at work. HEARTBURN 24/7. The heartburn has to be the worst part of all of this. I’ve had it my entire pregnancy, and it just hasn’t let up.
What’s left to do?
A LOT. We need to find a daycare for once the new year starts. I still need to interview pediatricians — my pediatrician growing up is accepting new patients so I might find myself in his office. We should probably take some of the classes that are offered. At least, one. We’re slackers now that we have the nursery all set up (minus artwork). We have eleven weeks to finish things up, but we’ll probably do everything in the next five or six, to be on the safe side.
Good purchases?
I don’t want to brag or anything, but we were able to get our DockaTot for a super good price. It was marked down to $104, and I’m assuming it’s because someone returned it. But, we got an extra 15% off that $104. Thank you, Target. This is one thing that I truly wanted for our baby especially since our condo is three levels and it’ll be easy to lay him in this depending on the room that we are in.
We got out a glider! This has been a process as we went back and forth between a recliner and ottoman. Ultimately, we went with a recliner, and I find myself in this chair during the weekends. I’m practicing my sitting.
That’s about it. We’re still prepping over here and trying to get things done. If anyone has any dad diaper bag suggestions, please share. My manly man has an idea of what he wants, but we haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Almost there but not quite yet. I think I’m going to miss pregnancy. I might be restless from time to time, but I know in a few months, things are going to be so different with the baby around. I’m going to have a baby, and he’s going to demand all my attention.
💙💙💙 soon as you start missing pregnancy just have another for me 👍🏽🤷🏽♀️
