Raise your hand if you love cooking.
Let me be real, my kitchen is mostly utilized by Chase. Yes, I do my part when I need to but he is always cooking. Now, I’m all about the little things like a cup of tea or getting juice, small things that don’t need too much attention.
Nonetheless, I have a few favorite things that I use in the kitchen. Believe it or not, I do cook but not too much. Don’t let my pile of cookbooks fool you.
In 2020, I want to get more into cooking and being in the kitchen. Eating out less is my goal especially as I track how much I spend a month from buying lunch at work to eating out for dinner and on the weekends. With all corona things that are going on, I have an ample amount of time right now.
With that goal, that means doing a lot more in my kitchen. Now, before I figure out my new appliances once I start cooking, I want to give the appliances I utilize all the time some shine.
Tea Kettle
If you know me, then you know I have to have my tea every evening. If I was up early enough in the morning, I’d have it in the morning, too. A tea kettle is a must-have for me. There is no good day without a hot cup of tea for me. Fun fact: I’m going for tea over coffee any day of the week. I bought my tea kettle for Amazon and the price can’t be beaten in my eyes. I’ll probably update to a glass tea kettle once we move but Amazon was my trusty source for this kettle.
Ninja Bullet
First, I want to thank my mom for buying me a Ninja Bullet for Christmas. I love my Bullet and the fact that it makes it easy to make smoothies that are ready for travel. Not going to lie, my smoothies are pretty basic but that’s okay. The Ninja Bullet that I received came with a recipe book which I have saved for the mornings when I’m down to commit to something different than my strawberry smoothie.
Keurig Dupe
So, I don’t have a Keurig yet as I have a dupe that was around $20-$30. You can’t beat that, am I right? Anyways, I love it. I can use all the K-Cups on it because that’s what it’s made for. It’s very similar to the Keurig, just clear and goes with my decor more. Honestly, I’m not sure if I want a black or silver Keurig so this baby will do for the time being. I’m hoping our house has a set-up where I can organize my K-Cups and teabags in one centralized area. You know that I’m trying to get my Neat Method on.
Tea Jar
How cute is it? You can’t tell me that this tea jar is not cute. Somehow, I came across it at HomeGoods and I can’t pass up on a $5-$7 jar that will house my teabags. I love it — I house all my Lipton teabags in here and I can say that they stay fresh. Not going to lie — I don’t know if a teabag can go bad but mine have not. Nonetheless, I’m not sure where you can get this exact one but they’re all the rage right now so you’ll be able to find them anywhere. I love how neutral mine is as I try to keep my kitchen within a neutral palette of white and grey with maybe some beige and wood here and there.
Cookbooks
Not going to lie, I have yet to really deep-dive into my cookbooks but I love buying them and figuring out what to cook. I have both of Chrissy Teigen’s cookbooks with pages marked up on what I’m going to cook. Before I went on maternity leave, I had this big idea that I was going to be cooking all these meals and I was wrong. I do have plans to utilize these cookbooks especially as Cannon gets older and I try to keep us from eating out all the time.
Air Fryer
If you don’t have an Air Fryer, you need to get it together. This is one of the best inventions ever. You can cook everything in this — that’s what the box says. I made sweet potato fries a week ago and they were amazing. I have the huge Air Fryer and my mom has a mini — I suggest the mini if you’re worried about space. Chase has made so much in this thing from salmon and steak to chicken and tater tots. As your trusty I’m-Not-the-Best-Cook, I can pull off a great meal with this thing. I love my AirFryer.
These are just a few of my favorite items. Once I get back into the kitchen and more into the kitchen, you can expect an update with all my new skills. I’m thanking Pinterest, in advance, as I know I’ll be utilizing recipes from there when I’m not using my cookbooks.
Here is to cooking more and trying new foods in your kitchen 2020!
I hope you found a few things on here that you like and you can find some of my favorites in my Amazon shop, here.
I totally agree. I have every single one of these items except the bullet, which I plan to add soon. The blender that I currently have requires way too much effort but will suffice for now.
And a tea kettle with a tea jar is ALWAYS a necessity. LOL!
