Let’s jump right into this.
From the picture, you can probably tell that this is about to be beauty focused. Time to talk about my beauty regime and how I like to keep myself natural and glowy. Slay day—I like to think that I slay all day, every day… I’m not even going to lie. It really doesn’t take me as long as it takes some people to get ready. Some of my friends take an hour when they implement contouring and highlighting their face but not me and I’m not sure why. Maybe I’m just a quick mover when it comes to dabbing my face. It’s a regime that I wish I could snap my fingers and be covered.
I’m not going to lie, it’s actually a lot to be putting on my face especially since I’m acne prone and I have combination skin that can be oily one day and dry the next. It’s really an up and down cycle when it comes to my skin. I thought this acne stuff would be over by now but hormonal acne is the devil. Hormones would actually be the devil in this particular case, I guess. Nonetheless, it’s a lot of makeup that I put on my face and sometimes I feel the weight of it but most of the time, I just feel and look good.
Not pictured are the blush and bronzer that I apply to my face.
First, I cleanse my face because who wants to add makeup to a dirty face? That’s just harsh on your pores. A clean face, add the moisturizer and we’re ready to go (sometimes I use a primer, sometimes I don’t—I’m terrible).
My eyebrows are my shining star—I start off by shaping them before I fill them in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow.
I recommend Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation. Like the name states, it’s long wear aka it stays put. I’m someone that has tried different brands but I have yet to switch from this foundation. Two squirts and I have full coverage. It matches my skin tone to the tee and it feels light on my face. This is one foundation that doesn’t weight me down because when I feel weighed down, part of me feels a little clogged or dirty.
Add in the Sephora or Nyx’s concealer for my under eyes and I’m on my way to highlighting and contouring. Make sure to blend with your beauty blender because an unblended face is not your friend. I skip the baking step like everyone else, jumping right to powdering my face with my MAC setting powder followed by my Too Faced Chocolate contour powder or Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette that I use a lot. It would be really helpful if I was a vlogger because I could voiceover on a cute video. Back to my face, it gets beat. After I blend my contour because I don’t want brown spots/lines clogging up my face, I dab on my blush and utilize having rosy cheeks. Anastasia Beverly Hills is a major line in my life. I utilize the glow kit and switch up highlighters every day.
Not going to lie, I’m pretty basic with it.
I only glam myself up when I go out or have somewhere to be that involves being the bomb dot com. Eye make-up isn’t really my thing but I do use the Maybelline Big Shot mascara and I love it. I start off with Benefit’s They’re Real mascara to make my eyelashes long before loading on the Maybelline mascara for thicker lashes. To close it off, I line with upper lids with black eyeliner and my waterline with white eyeliner.
To finish it off, I apply the Mario Badescu
Does this really take me fifteen minutes? Yes, I probably could take more time and end up looking like a bombshell but ya girl is always rushing. Actually, I just don’t want to take forever to get ready in the morning because I sleep in for fifteen extra minutes.
What’s a product that I should look into? Do you have a quick or long regime?
